Meet Diane De Cero
True passion for her work has allowed Diane to create spectacular interiors for her clients for the past 20 years. Her attention to detail and desire to capture the personal tastes of each client have maintained her business through the years with constant repeat clients and endless referrals. Sewing since she was 9 years old - a gift given to her by her mom - Diane has always loved working with fabrics, first as a clothing seamstress and then fabricating window treatments. Combining those skills with her knowledge of textiles, her ability to sketch, and her sales knack, Diane opened her first retail design studio in 1994 in Downers Grove. She also eventually developed and operated a professional drapery workroom along with the Retail Design Studio.
In 2005, her business became home-based until 2014 when she moved in to her current space. Diane specializes in creating unique window treatments, mixing textures and designs with all the bells and whistles, and creating original final projects so each client receives a truly custom look. In addition to specializing in “softwindow treatments”, Diane has been certified by Hunter Douglas blinds, shades and shutters for over 20 years and is currently a priority dealer.
Throughout her career, Diane has remained committed to community values by donating her time and talent to various organizations. As a Lemont resident, Diane dedicated 11 years to work with the Lemont Juniors Woman’s Club on their Annual Housewalk. Diane was instrumental in developing the Walk into a very successful Christmas Housewalk featuring her professional decorating abilities. As a result, the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club had 9 more years of successful Housewalks.
In addition, Diane was chairperson for the Crisis Center of South Suburbia’s (CCSS) Annual Holiday Housewalk for 5 years. Diane also served on the Executive Board for CCSS, sitting on many fundraising committees and she was responsible for raising thousands of dollars for this worthwhile cause. Currently Diane serves on the Executive Board for Lockport Mainstreet and is very involved with the Lockport Chamber of Commerce.
